TOWN PLANNING

Our significant town planning experience has been gained by working on behalf of both the public and private sectors. 

For the most part, we assist individuals, architects and developers by preparing town planning reports (Statements of Environmental Effects), lodging development applications and managing development applications on their behalf.  We regularly carry out work on a range of development proposals including:

• Changes of use to existing buildings,
• Alterations and additions to homes and other buildings,
• New houses and housing complexes,
• Commercial buildings,
• Multi-dwelling and mixed use developments,
• Subdivision applications,
• Low rental accommodation (usually under SEPP 10),
• Backpacker/boarding house accommodation,
• New restaurants and bars (particularly where detailed plans of management are required).   

Also, we have been engaged by local government both within Australia and internationally, and in particular have a broad range of experience in working on behalf of many Councils within Sydney. 

As a result of working for both the public and private sectors we are in a unique position in offering town planning advice that is based on a broad range of experience.  We understand the requirements and processes of Councils, and as a result appropriate information is provided to Councils with the submission of development applications. 

Advice is also always up to date and our staff are endorsed as Certified Practicing Planners by the Planning Institute of Australia.

We also carry out Land and Environment Court work for both the public and private sectors.
